Group course or private training — which should you choose?

October 2026·HRT Journal
// Beginners

You have a training goal but are unsure whether to join a group course or arrange a private date. Compare the programme, the pace you need and the practical arrangements first.

A group course from the published schedule

Consider this option when a course's programme and available date suit you. Check its level, requirements and current availability before booking. The group works within the programme, with the instructor organising activities for its participants.

Do not assume every course has the same participant limit. Check the current course and date details.

Private training with an individual goal

Ask about this format if you need to discuss particular needs, are returning after a break or cannot fit the published schedule. HRT private training can be for one participant or an agreed small group. Programme, duration and group size are arranged individually when the offer is prepared.

An individual format does not remove safety rules or entry requirements. The scope must fit participants' experience and training conditions.

A closed group needs a separate agreement

If you want to train only with friends or colleagues, explain this in your enquiry. Include the number of participants, experience and desired scope. Do not book several public places on the assumption that the date automatically becomes a closed course.

Compare the same points in each offer

  • The goal and programme.
  • Participant numbers and organisation.
  • Date, language and duration.
  • Required equipment and any additional costs.
  • How the booking is confirmed.

Do not choose solely by dividing the price by the number of hours. Check whether the offered scope matches what you want to learn.

How to ask about the right format

Describe what you need, your experience and who would attend with you. Include possible dates. HRT can then respond to a concrete request rather than guess your expectations.
